Week 7- Grand Canyon

Place: The Grand Canyon Skywalk
Cost: $64.88 This was for the park fee and Kirby's admission.  Charlie was free
Hours: 8am-5pm October through March and 7am- 7pm April through September
Best for kids age:  While I don't think Charlie truly appreciated the beauty of the Grand Canyon, I think it is something everyone should see.  I really don't have a good idea of when kids would actually value all that the Grand Canyon is.
On the plus side: The Grand Canyon is one of those rare places where photographs just never do it justice.      Kirby and Becky said the skywalk was totally worth it.  From an educational standpoint, the skywalk was built on Native American land.  Apparently Charlie really enjoyed exploring parts of the Native American culture.
On the down side:  At this point the drive was a little too long for Jocelyn at just 6 months.  The two of us opted to stay back.  The only negative I heard from Kirby is that the last fifteen miles of their drive was quite a bumpy ride.
Suggestions: A note- While there, Kirby was talking to the guides and they said that Mondays are actually the busiest days because everyone expects them not to be
Another note- if you are coming out to Vegas, look for a Groupon deal for the Grand Canyon.  There can be great combo tours of the skywalk with a helicopter ride.  I am hoping that we will do this one day.
Rating (on a scale of 1-5 stars) 5
Go again? Of course!  I look forward to the day when we can take the kids and they are in awe of how incredible the Grand Canyon truly is.

  1. Nice !! Choose the helicopter tour that flies furthest and deepest into the Grand Canyon. You'll feel awesome and exhilaration as you fly like a bird on the most extensive helicopter tour there is from Las Vegas, taking you below the rim into the mysterious depths of the Grand Canyon.las vegas tours to grand canyon
